This building is designed and built by craftsmen. It’s restoration over the last two decades (and ongoing), is handcrafted. Every item of furniture and textile are hand made, primarily from repurposed material. Our restaurants serve slow cooked and fresh food. We use seasonal ingredients. Majority of our staff is from surrounding villages. Our gift shop proudly sells artisanal products. Our hospitality mirrors how we treat guests in the Mangaldas family home. Hence, when you come to The House of MG, it feels like coming home!
The House Of Mg
The House of MG was built by one of the city fathers and it wonderfully represents the colonial heritage architecture of the early 20th century, replete with courtyards and verandahs, overflowing with greenery. The superbly restored property has thirty-seven rooms and two hugely popular restaurants.this building is designed and built by craftsmen. A 300 years old carved wooden villa with just two large suites is located in the heart of the historic walled city of Ahmedabad. This beautiful 250 years old carved wooden villa, built in traditional style with a central courtyard, has been painstakingly restored.

Mangalbag Gallery & Residency (TEMPORARILY CLOSED)
A 90 year old residential bungalow amidst a beautiful garden is located in the original residential precinct of western ahmedabad near parimal garden. This lush green compound houses three bungalows from the 1930’s. It’s a green haven with beautiful old trees and a variety of fauna. Two of these houses are occupied by members of the mangaldas family and the third house, a late 1930’s colonial building, is now the ‘mangalbag gallery and residency’. It has two lovely ensuite rooms on the ground floor.
